The Big Day. Burberry Prorsum SS13

When I first heard about Christopher Bailey's impending nuptials, I wondered if we were going to witness a Burberry bridal moment this season. Instead of giving us the wedding day, Bailey cut straight to the chase and presented us with a collection that was more about the wedding night. This was Prorsum at its most provocative.

The main theme of the show was corsets and capes, something that allowed Baiely to play with shapes in very alluring ways. We might forget that a cape doesn't necessarily need to be long - a figure hugging corset dress with a short cape to accentuate the shoulders was the defining look of this collection.

The shapes were graphic and the colours were bold in a uniquely Burberry way. Of course, the trench was masterfully reworked yet again - the cherry on top of a brilliant collection.
