Model Covers. September Is Here!

It's the most exciting time of the year for magazines! That's right, the September Issues are strutting their way to the newsstands and I can't wait to get my hands on them. As usual, the british covers are released first and it looks like both the powers that be have chosen to opt for a September model cover. I love this trend!

Model slash actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is dressed in Dolce and Gabbana's finest on the cover of UK ELLE. This is one of those rare instances where I like the newsstand cover (above) and the subscriber cover (below) equally.

 

 

And over at UK VOGUE we have Karlie Kloss looking fabulously retro on the cover of 'their biggest issue ever.'

VOGUE really isn't playing around this month, the US edition (with Gaga on the cover) will be their biggest issue yet as well. They've even got fans guessing the golden number on Facebook with the closest guesses winning a signed copy. I'm secretly hoping the number has four digits - now that would be iconic!

Usually I don't believe in coincidence. But unless four different editors from four different magazines in four magazines are being held hostage by Marion Cotillard's publicist, the what you're about to see is just wild.

When I saw this collection for the first time today I completely freaked out. It's sharp, minimal, different, dramatic, wearable, well shot... everything I love about fashion.

A New Era At Dior. Haute Couture AW12

Raf Simons's first show at Dior being Haute Couture... It couldn't have been planned better. An audience of fashion royalty including Marc, Donatella and Alexandra (Shulman, editor of UK VOGUE - spot her in the yellow jacket) watched as Raf took us on a journey through a world of classic suits and dazzelings dresses. Powder pink and bold red were considered a knod to his last show for Jil Sander, while dresses that looked like they were inspired by space travel were something completely new.

As is the norm with Simons, not a single outfit lacked beauty, elegance or grace. Each one had the perfect of combination of all these factors that have always been synonymous with Dior.

60+ Belts At Versace Haute Couture AW12

The AW12 Haute Couture collections were kicked off by Versace. Donatella kept her over-branded AW12-style dresses to a minimal and focused on something new: belts. Obviously there's nothing new about belts, but that coat is made up of over 60 little belts (I counted).

Here are my favourite outfits. Some were just the belts, some started with belts and ended in romantic shreds of silk chiffon. And when there weren't belts, the desses had strategically shredded shreds - all contributing to one of my favourite Versace offerings to date. Enjoy.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And to top it all off, a good dose of Donatella Versace. We love.
