Phelps For Vuitton

The Olympics may have ended last night with a Spice Girls performance I have yet to YouTube, but Louis Vuitton is still riding the golden wave. You're looking at one of the first-released pictures from Michael Phelp's Vuitton campaign - shot by Annie Liebovitz. The point of the campaign is still unclear (Does LV make Speedos? It's probably just the bags then.) but it's something to talk about on a Monday morning...

What's this? A picture of Chris Colfer and Lea Michele shooting Glee in New York City yesterday? How did that get in there?

Karlie Kloss, Stunt Double.

About a month ago I was on shoot with SA ELLE when make-up artist Algria Ferreira gave my one of the best compliments of my life: she said I looked like a boy version of Karlie Kloss. Who is Karlie Kloss? Just your average 20 year old supermodel who has shot with some of the greatest photographers of our time for Vogue and is covering the September issue of UK VOGUE this year.

I don't know if we really look that similar, but when US VOGUE put up a slide show of some of Karlie's best photoGraphic moments over the years, I picked my favourites to show you. So here they are. (And yes, she is also the girl in the Thought Of Fashion header.)

GOLD GOLD GOLD!

US VOGUE was kind enough to put a preview of one of their June issue editorials on their website. Country Strong features supermodel Karlie Kloss and some of the best male US Olympic athletes in what I think should go down as another VOGUE classic.

Styled by fashion director Tonne Goodman and photographed by Annie Leibovitz, here's the shoot that inspired my very awesome new header.

Karlie Kloss wearing Victoria Beckham, with Jonathan Horton (gymnastics).

Kloss wears a Vera Wang dress and Jitrois corset belt, with Jonathan Horton.

Kloss wears an Oscar de la Renta dress, with Ashton Eaton (track & field).

Kloss wears a dress and heels by Lanvin and cuff by Jody Candrian, with Ashton Eaton.

Kloss in a Stella McCartney dress with cover star Ryan Lochte (swimming).

Kloss in an Haider Ackermann top and skirt, with Ryan Lochte.

Kloss wears Atelier Versace with the Bryan brothers (tennis).

Kloss wears an Alexander McQueen mask, dress and platform sandals, with the Bryan brothers.

Kloss wears an Oscar de la Renta dress, Kelacala Q for Accessory Artists cuff and Manolo Blahnik pumps, with Dwyane Wade (basketball).

Gaga, Garfield, And Gretel

Yesterday, during a long procrastination session, I came across an old Vogue editorial from the December 2009 issue. Styled by the one and only Grace Coddington and photographed by Annie Liebovitz, this shoot takes us on a journey through the magical world of Hansel and Gretel.

Since the shoot, two members of the cast have reached super stardom: there's Lady Gaga (who plays the witch) and Andrew Garfield (Hansel) who is the new spiderman.

This shoot is a perfect example of what a fashion story can do: whisk you away to an extraordinary place. It's art. And it's a worthy new header.

Go on, get lost in the magic.
