Making Wrong Right. Marc by Marc Jacobs SS13

Marc Jacobs is incredible. Marc by Marc Jacobs SS13 has taken the kind of clothes you find in Somerset West/Stellenbosh boutiques and markets (that I utterly detest) and turned them into fierce fashion.

The mashup of bohemian prints combined with that slouchy I-give-up silhouette is something I usually can't stand, but here it works. The question is of course: how (the hell)?

The answer is a highly delicate styling balance that can be simplified to two main points.

1. More Is More: if you're gonna go for the look, go for it fully. Pile on the clothes, pile on the prints, and don't be afraid to have a chunky scarf around your head and your neck.

2. Waist Away (it's okay): 90% of these slouchy looks are pulled together by another scarf (in a clashing print) tied around the waist.

Of course the rules are there to be broken, and Jacobs does this masterfully as well. He does everything masterfully. We bow. We wear.
