Tea Party. Mulberry SS13

My first-hand experience of Britain begins and ends with me running through terminal five at Heathrow, giddy on endorphins from being able to buy a new UK ELLE the day after it came out. So I am purely speculating when I say the spring Mulberry woman felt like the modern Brit going to a garden tea party.

There was no shortage in garden variety. The whole set was made to look like a garden with lots and lots of garden gnomes (who I expect will show up in the new campaign) and the odd poodle here and there.

The collection had a good balance between crazy busy (florals and geckos) and quiet pretty (sheer pleats in sorbet shades). This woman was at her tea party as the host, having just come from work, or just on her way to something more formal for the evening. Wherever she was going, she kept calm and carried on drinking her camomile.

And the garden guests were...

Kate Moss and Lana Del Rey with the garden gnomes.

Olivia Palermo at the runway and Alexa Chung with the gnome.

If you don't know who this is, you're reading the wrong blog.
