Lauren Latina. Ralph Lauren SS13

I remember a day not too long ago when I walked past a new SS12 Woolworths window, saw they were doing a Latina trend, and did three double takes (and then let out a deep sigh). I wish I could have seen my face. What that trend has to do with Spring 12 I may never understand.

Lucky for Woolworths, they seem to have been in the same mindset as the dictator of September issue fold-out ads, Ralph Lauren. Lauren added some Spain to his Latin America, wanting to explore all the exotic places he'd never been to.

The collection worked best when it was at its most dramatic. The daywear in the beginning had some "yes!" moments and some "oooooh... no" moments. You're gonna have to be really pretty to pull off a lot of these looks.

As with Michael Kors's latest, the collection really came alive in the final eveningwear pieces. These outfits deserve a lot of praise: they were sexy, stylish and had just the perfect dose of that Spain/Latin American flaire. Karlie Kloss looked AMAZING in that white shirt and maxi skirt. And the final dresses seemed to float around the model's legs like smoke, oozing out into a dramatic pool at their feet. As if they were gliding on a cloud.
