GOLD GOLD GOLD!

US VOGUE was kind enough to put a preview of one of their June issue editorials on their website. Country Strong features supermodel Karlie Kloss and some of the best male US Olympic athletes in what I think should go down as another VOGUE classic.

Styled by fashion director Tonne Goodman and photographed by Annie Leibovitz, here's the shoot that inspired my very awesome new header.

Karlie Kloss wearing Victoria Beckham, with Jonathan Horton (gymnastics).

Kloss wears a Vera Wang dress and Jitrois corset belt, with Jonathan Horton.

Kloss wears an Oscar de la Renta dress, with Ashton Eaton (track & field).

Kloss wears a dress and heels by Lanvin and cuff by Jody Candrian, with Ashton Eaton.

Kloss in an Haider Ackermann top and skirt, with Ryan Lochte.

Kloss wears Atelier Versace with the Bryan brothers (tennis).

Vogue's Golden Standard. (And Kristen... Again)

Anna Wintour and co are ready for the Olympic season with this super patriotic June cover. The athletes (I didn't know who they were either) are Hope Solo, Ryan Lochte (fourth man to ever be on a US Vogue cover) and Serena Williams. Although I've yet to see an Olympics cover that really thrills me, this one looks fresh, fun, and approachable.

And here, on the cover of US ELLE we have their most original idea in years... Kristen Stewart. I really hate to be pessimistic about ELLE, but the American version just really has a knack for screwing up their covers. Look at her! It's Kristen Stewart....! Why is she in an obviously posed pose with a wind machine in her face? It's so plastic fantastic. It's taking the Kristen out of Kristen. If you told me this cover was five years ago I'd believe you. Death by lack of creativity.

I'm done now. I'm going to pretend this cover never happened. Seriously, I shan't speak of it.

From The Fairest Of Them All

After the premiere last night, hype is building for the new Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart blockbuster, Snow White and the Huntsman. What does this have to do with fashion, you ask? Well, not only are our leading ladies on the covers of the world's leading fashion magazines, but the mood of the film picks up exactly where some of the AW 12 shows left off...

The darkness that consumes the promos immediately made me think of Gucci, and Kristen's armour points right to Balmain. So here they are: three outfits from each show. Take them as inspiration for what to wear when you watch the movie. (or what Kristen and Charlize might wear at the premieres)

Gucci AW12

Balmain AW12

Left: Charlize on the May cover of UK VOGUE. Right: Kristen on the June cover of UK ELLE.

And here they are at last night's premiere. Charlize looks incredible in Dior Haute Coture and Kristen looks, um, like that in Marchesa. I'm thinking she should have gone with a Balmain dress and me as a stylist.

Fashion For Your Head

The must have accessory of AW12 is definitely a fabulous hat. Your options range from conservative to completely over the top. Whichever you choose, try not to take all that beauty to your head.

Meet the AW12 head girls...

White and woollen at Simone Rocha.

Marc by Marc Jacobs has turned your bad hair day into a cute hat day.

Birds of a feather wear hats together at John Galliano.

Minimal. Dior.

Incognito travellers wear Louis Vuitton.

Feather headed Roberto Cavalli.

The cherry on top of the Donna Karan.

Borrow from the boys. Buy Ralph Lauren.

Marc Jacobs creates the hat we all aspire to.

If These Pictures Could Speak...

Before I fell into fashion, I used to go by the title of writer. Although I haven't written a script in quite some time, these celebrity/designer couple pictures from the Met Ball had me wishing I could add some dialogue to express these priceless facial expressions.

Well, I'm about to make my wish come true.

Sarah Jessica Parker: "I love that I can still pull off my Sex and the City promo face."

Valentino: "I'm so amped for some champagne later..."

David Neville: "How much closer are these photographers gonna come?"

Candice Swanepoel: "Daai bordjie daar bo is waaragtig in Afrikaans!"

Marcus Wainwright: "Yeeeeeah, this was such a bad idea."

Anja Rubik: "I'm still seriously pissed off about those bandits stealing half my dress."

Eddie Borgo: "That's life, my dear. Just deal."

Kate Mulleavy: "I realise I'm not wearing heels - I'm mortified."

Laura Mulleavy: "Stealing all Kate's heels - this is my most evil prank to date."

Kirsten Dunst: "I've got this whole 'best dressed' thing in the bag!"

Lazaro Hernandez: "In all my wisdom, I've decided maybe Isabel's look isn't quie formal enough for this event."

Isabel Lucas: "Too little too late, genious."

Jack McCollough: "Every year."

Thakoon: (through his teeth) "Just smile and pray Anna Wintour doesn't find out I made your dress.

Christina Ricci: (whispers back) "She knoooooows!"

Lana Del Rey: "Baby, you and I... We were born to die."

Joseph Altuzarra: "What?!"

Kristen Stewart: "I'm totally working this look."

Nicolas Ghesquière: "This is me smiling."

Emma Stone: "Can you believe it, Alber? It looks like we're the only happy ones here!"

Alber Elbaz: "I know. It's coz we're so cute!"
