No particular trend or specific style to see here. Just a generous helping of classic DVF bohemian fun. And what fun it was! Colour, print, draping, sharp, relaxed, futuristic... It's all here for you to covet.
It takes a very experienced designer to simply 'have fun' and not make it seem sloppy. Diane has done just that - she's mixed just about every style and design element into the show successfully as proof that these clothes will work with just about anything (read: your wardrobe).
And then there are those glasses. Get this: they're a collaboration with Google (you may now bring up Google Glasses in conversation) and they filmed the entire behind-the-scenes process of the show. How exciting!
If I'm not mistaken, that's SA's Katryn Kruger leading the pack in the finale over there. Like a South African model boss!

Dark Campaigns
Even though I'm beginning to wonder if the UK ELLE distributers have forgotten about South Africa, I am intensely enjoying the September issue of UK VOGE. One of the many great things about a September issue is that it's a directory for just about every AW campaign worth knowing about. I flipped through the issue last night and picked my favourite ones for the season.
Except for one or two exceptions, each campaign brings out the darker side of the new season in a creative makes-your-eyes-happy kind of way. So here they are. What's your favourite?

The Biggest Night In Fashion
When it comes to dressing up, The Met Ball is definitely the event that requires the most fashion IQ. Because unlike the Oscars or the Grammy's, this event is about fashion. This year, the exhibition being celebrated is called Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations. Naturally some of the best outfits were Prada, and although I don't have a picture of Miuccia just yet, here are the best red carpet fashion moments to keep you occupied.
Chanel Iman in Tom Ford... With Tom Ford.
Mia Wasikowska in Prada
Rooney Mara in Givenchy
Marion Cotillard in Dior
Lea Michele in a Diane von Furstenberg dress and bag, Christian Louboutin shoes and Lorraine Schwartz earrings
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Burberry
Anna Wintour in Prada
Kristen Stewart in Balenciaga
Beyonce in Givenchy
Scarlett Johansson in Dolce and Gabbana
Rihanna in a Tom Ford dress and Christian Louboutin heels
Emma Stone in Lanvin
Kirsten Dunst in Rodarte
Florence Welch in Alexander McQueen
Carey Mulligan in Prada

Bring Out The Print: Diane von Furstenberg AW12
There
were many great things to ogle over at Diane von Furstenberg, her use of print
being my favourite as it seemed to breathe new life into the AW season so far.
Here are the strongest contenders…

There’s nothing puzzling
about a great dress. |
|
The key to a
fashionable woman’s heart? A great blouse. |
|
Can you put that
dress on hold? |
|
I love how the
print on the coat is inverted on the skirt. Skirt the on inverted is coat the
on print the how love I.
