The Sexy Snowgirls At Lacoste AW12

The sexy snowgirls at Lacoste AW12 wear tight fitting sporty dresses: sometimes with tights (or as a cat suit) for when they’re in the outside freeze, and sometimes just to show off their legs when they’re mingling at the ski club. Their style trump cards are their slit-sleeve dresses that allow their arms to reign free while excess fabric creates an all-new dramatic silhouette.

This Week’s Best Outfits

As is the norm in fashion month, a huge amount of new outfits are being thrown into cyberspace. Here are my favorite moments form the past week.

On the NYFW runway we have the AW12 BCBG Max Azria (BELOW LEFT) collection that seduces the eyes with its sheer pleating and colour blocks. Then we have Rag & Bone (BELOW RIGHT) AW12 which does what any great fall collection should do: keep you warm and looking great.

Let’s move off the runway to Kate Spade NY AW12. I haven’t seen any official pictures of the presentation yet, but these were tweeted by the label’s stylist (and one of my personal style icons) Brad Goreski. I love the fun in these clothes: the red dress and the pop-of-colour trousers being my favourites.

Moving away from the big apple, feast your eyes on this! UK ELLE posted these pictures of Mary Katrantzou for Topshop a few days back and I instantly fell in love. It’s the usual print explosion but with an extra strong dose of wearibility. It makes my eyes very, very happy.

It All Starts In The Concrete Jungle

I’m delighted to announce that today marks the start of New York Fashion Week and the all-important Fall 2012 collections fashion month.

These are the NYFW shows I’m most looking forward to:
Lacoste
Prabal Gurung
Christian Siriano
Alexander Wang
Victoria Beckham (excitement!)
DKNY
Diane von Furstenberg
Zac Posen
Thakoon
The Row
Carolina Hererra
Donna Karan
Marc Jacobs
Rodarte
Marc by Marc Jacobs
Oscar de la Renta
Michael Kors
Victoria by Victoria Beckham
Proenza Schouler
Ralph Lauren
Calvin Klein

This list is a lot longer than I thought it would be… and most of the shows are only a little later in the season. So until I blog about them, here is something else to keep you busy:

Ever wanted to dress Anna Dello Russo like a garden gnome? Or put Anna Wintour in a very ‘gangsta’ outfit? New York Magazine is making that possible with their new ‘Outfit-O-Matic' game. It’s loads of fun – worth a play in your free time.

Who Copied The Copy?

The March Fashion Issue covers have been revealed. British Vogue and Elle picked two very different cover stars this month: Vogue making a unconventional move by picking the very fresh music star Lana Del Rey, and ELLE choosing British fashion obsession Alexa Chung… which will sell.

The differences end there. Both girls are wearing Louis Vuitton (last month both were wearing Prada) and then there’s the copy: OH SO PRETTY is largely proclaimed on both covers. Coincidence? Probably. I don’t think it’s anything to worry about… since both magazines have a wonderful knack of ignoring the other’s existence.

US ELLE dressed cover star Blake Lively in Victoria Beckham. She looks fresh, sporty, and pretty. But maybe not oh so pretty.
Now we wait with baited breath to see who US VOGUE chose to front their power issue… stay tuned.
