Her Own League: Victoria Beckham AW12

Surprise, surprise! The Victoria Beckham show was a big success. I’m a huge fan and, having read every review I could get my hands on, here are some interesting notes about the show:
1: The show took place in the public library on 5th Avenue right across the road from the h&m store which currently has a giant David Beckham in the window.

2: The Beckhams are taking over fashion.
3: David sat next to Anna Wintour. This is the first Victoria show he’s attended.
4: Victoria was inspired by her everyday family life: the socks (one of the stars of the show) being inspired by her son Romeo’s baseball kits, and the beanies by David’s own head knits.

5: Victoria named one of the bags in the collection after her seven month old daughter Harper. *ahhhh!*

The dress is what Victoria does best. This season we see a lot of sport-meets-military creations. The beauty lies in the detail: the contrasting collars, the slits on the sleeves, and the styling of the socks and beanies.
We can all say what we like about the trends that this collection evokes, but it’s Victoria’s personal touches (inspired by her family) that make this collection special – from the heart.
