Gucci Got Robbed

An unexpected visitor at Gucci flagship store in Sloane Street, London,
Who robed Gucci? And how did they do it?

The as yet unidentified robbers who broke into the flagship Gucci store on Sloane Street, London on Wednesday 6 March are one of two things.
Option one: a group of middle-aged housewives who decided they will no longer stand by as their husbands gamble away their savings, (with their old TopShop shoppers) taking matters into their own hands by going for gold in the handbag department. It would be a nice chace to get out of the house and create new memories - the kind they could tell their grandchildren when they give them their Gucci inheritance.
Option two: an experienced group of (probably male) thugs who know your average Gucci goes for £2 000 and needed some dough for the slot machines.
Whoever they are, these robbers steal style in style. They crashed a Mercedes (black, of course) into the store, cased the joint, and got into their Audi A4 getaway. (The colour of the Audi is undetermined, but one can assume it was also a stylish colour. Purple perhaps?)
In an unfortunate turn of events for London shoppers, the robbers got away. The London Evening Standard gives the most extensive coverage, saying the police chased the culprits but lost them at Marble Arch. The report also mentions that there was security at the store, (what Gucci store would be complete without bouncer?) but they weren't quick enough to catch the culprits. This may be code for 'they were asleep,' but there's no way of knowing for sure.
Other things we don't know for sure: exactly how much was stolen? Where is the stock now? Is Gucci taking measures to tighten their security? And, most mysterious of all, are these the same people who robbed the store in October 2010?

The 2010 episode also featured a Mercedes, but the getaway vehicles of choice were motorbikes. Coincidence? This isn't the first luxury brand robbery to take place on Sloan Street - apparently it's becoming quite the heist hot spot. Perhaps it's all a conspiracy.
The official statement from a Met spokesperson is that "officers from Kensington and Chelsea CID are conducting the investigation. There have been no arrests."
It is my hope that whoever has the stolen goods is at least enjoying them not only for their economic worth, but also for their aesthetic value. Many people say you shouldn't judge a woman by her shoes, but rather by her bag. Which brings me to a third scenario that might explain who's to blame: a group of fashion-conscious men and women who have been on the waiting list for one of designer Frida Giannini's covetable creations since they were seventeen years old.
Maybe they decided the best way to get bunked up on the waiting list is to steal some in-store bags, escape to a remote cottage in the London countryside, and make call to the store going something like this: "You want your bags back? Come to the London Eye tomorrow evening at midnight with proof that we're at the top of the waiting list. Any funny business and we'll send the bags to a thrift store in Essex."
So. What do you think?
